Our flock contains only purebred Rhode Island Red chickens. No “barnyard mixes” or unknowns. RIR chickens are known for being a good all around breed. Their egg production is around 250-300 per year and their meat quality is very good when properly harvested. When it comes to temperament, our experience has been good. Some are more friendly than others but all are well-behaved regardless of their individual demeanor.
